Lunar Eclipse 2010

By Howard Sanders • December 21st, 2010

Despite the wind and cloudy skies on Pender last night we did get enough of a glimpse  to take a shot of the lunar eclipse

Total Lunar Eclipse 2010 from Pender Island

It was the only one this year and the only one in the last 372 years to coincide with the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, being  the longest and darkest night of the year.

Seeing such ‘grand scale’ cosmic events such as this really puts everything in perspective for me. Incredible, just incredible.
