Spotlight On: The Wild Thyme Coffee House, Saturna Island
I thought I would start a new series on my blog, highlighting interesting businesses and locations on both Pender and Saturna Islands for local islanders and new visitors alike.
Today we are going to look at The Wild Thyme Coffee House on Saturna Island. I was over there a few days ago, and decided to stop by to enjoy a cup of good coffee and a bowl of delicious soup. The business is the brainchild of Aleah Johnson – a local Saturna Islander entrepreneur and you can find out a lot more information at their website – www.wildthymecoffeehouse.com or at their Facebook Page .
What is different about this particular coffee house, you may ask? Well for a start it is housed in ‘Lucy’ a 1963 Leyland Lowlander double-decker London bus – very similar to ones I remember riding in growing up near London, England.
Nostalgia aside, the coffee house is open for breakfast and lunch daily, is located within minute’s walk of the ferry terminal and also has free wi-fi. Not only that, but the food and coffee are really good. Check out more pictures below:
Showing the top deck seating area. What a lot of fun!
